GIC manages a diversified, multi-asset portfolio combining bottom-up security selection with top-down macroeconomic analysis across seven specialized investment desks.
Members employ a multi-faceted investment strategy involving quantitative and qualitative analysis to produce investment pitches and construct a diversified portfolio. Pitches include a presentation of theses supported by various financial models, including discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyouts, merger models, and dividend discount models.
The unique layout of GIC's investment groups mirrors the format of leading financial institutions, promoting exposure to multiple asset classes. Each desk is structured with a Desk Head who oversees prospective investments and facilitates team education.
Following each pitch, active members and the Portfolio Committee vote on whether the investment should be included in the club portfolio. All profits are reinvested into the fund or returned to members in the form of events or investing capital.
